Pumpkin Math, Walk for the Homeless, Fall Festival Celebration

What a fun day we had on Thursday!!  Math skills using pumpkins!  We predicted weight, circumference, diameter, and number of seeds.  Then, of course, we had to check our predictions!  Take a look at our mathematicians doing their work... with a little help from some great parents!!!!
 and teachers...
We used the string to help us predict the circumference.

With a 5 lb. bag of sugar and a 1 lb. container of salt, we tried to figure out how much our pumpkin weighed.

After cutting the pumpkin in half, we could check our predictions of diameter and number of seeds.

Some enjoyed this more than others...
What IS the best way of counting seeds???
Not a fan of the messy part!!

LOVE seeing those smiles!!
